With so much going on in our lives, sometimes we take the little things for granted. I believe there are 6 things we can try and do everyday (if not all 6, try and do as many as possible) that will make our lives more fulfilling. None of these 6 are too overwhelming to achieve. Some might be more difficult than others, depending on the person, but they can be done. Add these 6 aspects to your daily life, and only positiveness will come out of it. So without further ado, here are my 6 assurances to a better day:
.) Smile- It´s pretty simple. There are many things to smile about. Everyday should be a reason to smile because it is another blessing. Never underestimate the power of a smile.
.) Laugh- This is not the same as smiling. Happy people don´t need reasons to laugh because most likely they are laughing every hour. When was the last time you laughed? There is nothing like a good chuckle to brighten up your mood.
.) Converse with someone- Have a real conversation with another human being. It doesn´t have to be an in-depth analysis of something. It could be talking to a stranger on the bus. I know some people like their privacy and are somewhat shy and introverted, but engaging with other people makes us feel more valuable as individuals. It is always good to share our thoughts with someone else.
.) Think- This might sound kind of obvious. All of us probably think throughout the day. But I am talking about actually taking some time to yourself and thinking about you and your life. Maybe this entails thinking about how great your life is, by showing some gratitude. Whatever the reason, take some time for yourself and gather your thoughts. Meditation is something that has helped me.
.) Move- Don´t sit around all day at your desk or on the couch. Get out and be active. It can be as simple as taking the trash out. Get outside and breathe some fresh air. Don´t get stuck doing absolutely nothing all day. Enjoy the world around you.
.) Serve- This might be the most difficult one on the list because most of us are so wrapped up in our daily lives, that we forget there are actually other people out there. It can be challenging, but try and do something for someone else. Hold the door for another person, let someone go ahead of you when you are driving, etc. Little things like this not only benefit others, but they will make you feel better as a person. I guarantee it.
